B.D. Tiner, DDS, MD
B.D. Tiner received his undergraduate degree from Arkansas State University in 1972. He went on to complete his Doctor of Dental Surgery at The University of Tennessee in 1975 and his Doctor of Medicine at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1987. His post-graduate training includes an Anesthesiology Internship at UTHSC-SA which he completed in 1981. His Residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery was performed at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and was completed in 1984.
He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (1995) and a Fellow in the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. In addition to national organizations, he is an active member of the Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and The Southwest Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
He serves as a Clinical Professor for the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and has authored and co-authored several clinical publications. Dr. Tiners practice encompasses all areas of oral and maxillofacial surgery including facial cosmetic surgery and the management of obstructive sleep apnea. He maintains staff privileges at Southwest Texas Methodist Hospital. From 1986 to 1997, Dr. Tiner worked as Clinical Instructor, Assistant Professor and Associate Professor for the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the Department of Surgery at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Tiner lives in San Antonio with his wife where he has been in private practice since 1996. His outside areas of interest include maintaining his physical fitness.
