
Kelly Shy received her undergraduate degree with honors in Business Management in 1991 from Clemson University. She moved to Texas in 1991 where she began full-time work in the medical field. Her background in health administration includes work in both inpatient acute care facilities and ambulatory care management. She has worked in group specialty clinics as well as family medicine and rural health. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Masters in Health Services Management from The University of Mary Hardin Baylor in 1995. Ms. Shy is a member of the Medical Group Management Association and has served as Adjunct Professor for the Graduate Program in Health Services Management at The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (1999-2000).
In 1998, Ms. Shy joined Alamo Maxillofacial Surgical Associates, PA in the role of Practice Administrator. In addition to her work at Alamo Maxillofacial Surgical Associates, Ms. Shy has worked as a practice management consultant for a variety of specialty outpatient clinics. In 2005, Ms. Shy had the privilege of being named Executive Director for the Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and, in 2006, she became the Executive Director for the Southwest Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. She continues her work in private practice as well as the Societies today. Outside the office, Ms. Shy’s interests include family activities, ballroom dancing in which she has competed in various Pro-Am competitions and cycling.
