Amicar Pre-operative and Post-operative Instructions for Patients Who Are on Coumadin

• Swish with 5-10cc’s of Amicar before going to bed the night before your appointment for 1 minute and then swallow.
• Then on the morning of your appointment rinse again with 5-10cc’s of Amicar for 1 minute then swallow.
• One hour prior to your appointment rinse again with 5-10cc’s of Amicar for 1 minute then swallow.
• Bring your bottle of Amicar to your appointment. We will have you rinse immediately prior to your procedure with 5-10cc’s for 1 minute and then swallow.
• After your procedure you will bite on gauze that has been soaked in the Amicar solution for 2 hours.
• Two hours after your procedure remove the gauze and begin rinsing every 2 hours with 5-10cc’s for 1 minute until all of the Amicar is used.
